Articling Student

Posted on: Oct 26, 2018

I am a third-year student in the English Common Law program at the University of Ottawa looking for a criminal defence articling position in Hamilton to start after my expected graduation in April 2019.

Prior to attending the University of Ottawa, I completed an accelerated paralegal program at Seneca College in Toronto. I also have an Honours Certificate of Bilingual Studies in French Immersion which provides me with a working knowledge of written and spoken French.

This summer I completed a four-month internship at Abergel Goldstein and Partners LLP. I primarily spoke to matters in remand court and I performed a bail variation on Crown consent. I would also pick up disclosure and first appearance packages, reassure clients, and assist partners with more demanding trials. Outside of court, I prepared memos, facta, file briefs, book of authorities and trial books. I took comprehensive notes during meetings with witnesses.

I would be happy to provide a resume, cover letter, or any other documents upon request.
