    McHugh Ionico Boer LLP is currently seeking a Wills and Estates Law Clerk. We are open to either a part-time or full-time position. If you are looking to join an established and growing firm, assist a strong team of professionals, and come with direct estate planning and estate administration experience, we are eager to hear from you!


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Communicating respectfully with clients, court staff, peers, and financial institutions
    • Drafting of wills, powers of attorney, and other estate planning documents based on lawyer instructions and firm precedents
    • Conducting searches as required
    • File management in accordance with firm’s practices
    • Preparation of notarial documents


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working in a Wills and Estates Law Clerk role
    • Legal administration/law clerk diploma and/or Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario Certificate (or equivalent)
    • Proficiency in the following software: MS Word, Outlook, ActionStep (Soluno), Teraview, DropboxSign, Microsoft Teams, and Kofax (PDF) is preferred.

    The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter with meaningful experience in wills and estates law, including preparing wills, powers of attorney, and estate administration documentation, that is well-suited to join a dynamic team of skilled assistants, clerks and lawyers.
